When God Do Nothing

Question: What to do when God Do Nothing? Will God give us more than what we can handle?

"When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future." -Ecclesiastes 7:14

There are good times and bad times in all of our life. In a positive way, good and bad times together make our life, real life. The simplest way of describing good times is as in Psalm 23:6. Wherever we go, whatever we do, blessings, prosperity, happiness, peacefulness, power, health, satisfaction etc follow us. Blessings will come out of adverse situations, we get many folds that what we expect and we will be a blessings to the life of many others.

But all of us have some worse time in their life. Bad times in our life is like, wherever we go, whatever we do, problems like a curse, poverty, sadness, worries, sickness, dissatisfaction etc follow us, one after other. It can be via disasters, death, diseases, financial crisis, personal, family, business, professional or educational issues. Mostly the victim alone and rarely the family only knows the severe pain through pass through the period of bad times. Currently I'm also going through bad times, a period of severe crisis in life one after another.

What make my situation worst is God I know living, loving and almighty act like a stone, doing nothing. If I didn't know God, I can easily imagine God is a myth and start to move on. If I don't know God much, will already come to a conclusion that God does not exist. But for me I'm more sure than myself that there is a living God. I have seen Him, interacted with him, heard His voice, felt Him in my body many times just like we can feel a fellow human being. I know Holy Spirit very well and I've the spirit of God and His anointing in me. Such a God I know when act like a stone for no reason or for some unknown reason is makes me and all who are going through so uncomfortable and bad in this situation.

I'll explain how I feel when going through this worse time in my life: I feel I'm losing all my hopes, aims and dreams about life, as something in my hands slipping out. I'm not able to even think about tomorrow because of severity to struggle today. There will be terrible and sudden mood swings often. Sometimes feel to quit all commitments and go to some lonely place without return or to die peacefully or to be taken to heaven by God like Enoch. Sometimes feel it would be nice if I wasn't born and will think what's the purpose with such a life. Even if laughing and smiling outside in front of others, very sad and crying inside thinking about the situations, fear of losing all dreams and hopes. Usually when alone it will outflow as loud or soft cry. There is no interest to do any kind of activities such as to go outing or for parties or to watch films or to play or social networking or eating, etc. The most satisfying things are to be alone(especially in bed or by looking unto infinity), crying by hugging pillow, making achievements by day dreaming. Lack of interest in eating and drinking healthy food affect physical strength. Emotional pain sometimes affect body by and feel it difficult even to take breath. The worst of that is the feeling that I'll collapse and finish(die) while walking or standing.

Not feeling much to pray, praise or worship thinking where was the answer of all prayers. Still pray like Hannah because of sorrowful spirit, by only moving lips and no voice heard. Many times feels like that prayer is what keeping the breath still inside making me alive. Not angry, but mad at God like a small kid mad at parents for not giving him something he wish and want badly.

Great men of God in bible went through such times. The best example might be Job even though there are other people such as Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Hannah, David, John the baptist, Paul and so on. The words of Prophet Habakkuk, 'Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.' Nothing in this world can inspire a person who is going through these situation like the book of Job.

Sometimes people try to help us by advices wise or stupid. It's easy for them to come and tell us the things which we already know very well, like the friends of Job came and told him. Whoever tell us whatever only we who going through the same know what we are going through. I've good knowledge in all these things and sometimes I get irritated when people advice things like we do not know all these. As we all know, it is easy to know and tell things, but difficult to practice and apply in life. Still I've decided to hold on to few very important things and to share that to those who are going through the same.

1. Not to Deny God
Job's wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!” But Job said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?”

We should not only hold on to God when we receive the good things. May be we can not praise or thank God in adversity as much as in our good times due to our sadness, mental agony and so on. But if we do not deny God, that is the greatest thing we can do. We can consider all the good things and moments God provided in our life such as our life, food, water, air, relations, friends and so on. When Job was going through the worst situations, God always noted that Job did not denied God.

And if in case at an awkward moment, if you denied God, still God like you to come back to Him and He tries to restore you as well just as He restored Peter. Peter one among his 3 favorite disciples, who saw Jesus in flesh, revelation and glory, saw most of all the acts of Jesus denied Jesus and Jesus restored Peter with His love and He will restore you as well.

2. Release your Emotional Pain
After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.
Share your emotional pain to God. If you do not feel to share it to God, give first priority to share it to your life partner and second priority to your children or to your close friends. If you don't have anyone to whom you can share, speak it our to yourselves. There is no point in holding your emotional pain, tears or loud cry inside you and there is nothing wrong in speaking it out. We can see Job released his emotional pain likewise and releasing the pain is always better than getting more irritated mentally by holding it inside.

3. Do not end yourselves
Paul said 'God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able'. I do not agree much to that because Paul himself said later that 'we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life'.
What I've to say is, no matter how worse our situations are, it won't last forever. Surely a day will come in which our situations are restored and good times again. The worse period can last for few minutes or hours or days or weeks or months or years or even few decades. No body knows exactly how long it will last, but everyone knows that if we end our life in between, we can't see those good days. Also this life in us is not ours to take and we should never take what we cannot give. Sometimes even I feel that I'll collapse and finish due to the mental agony. If so, let it be. But it's not right to take it.

4. Do what you can do yourselves
Many things we depend in God are things we can do ourselves with the resources God provided. Almighty God is not deaf and slow. If we prayed once or twice and it was not answered, there is no point in waiting for an answer without doing what we can. Suppose you are sick and you prayed for the healing and nothing happened, do not put yourselves on hold and make your sickness worse. Try to get the best available treatment you can as soon as possible and at least use the resources which God provided you. When God heals, He'll provide instant healing or a very progressive result because all the healing God did while He was in earth as Jesus was likewise. I just mentioned about disease as an example. You can do what you can in all cases if prayer was not answered.

In case, if you do not have anything to do, just hold on for God to act. I'm now waiting for God to act. I don't know how long it will take and I don't know how long I can be like this.

I wish may this post help all its readers to find peace if they are going through or when they go through hard times in their life.
